In this episode Geoff Crook reveals all his insights on his book, The Dream Cafe, where he provides a guide for harnessing creativity and developing a brand designed to disrupt any market.
In his book Crook and co-author Duncan Bruce developed a fresh, innovative approach that is used by major businesses and is designed to product radical innovation that leads to unpredictable outcomes. The goal of the book is to show you how to transform any big business idea into a market disruptor, develop a competitive advantage by taking risks, and effectively implement massive innovation.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who possess a very creative mindset and need a practical guide for turning fresh ideas into highly profitable business ventures that will redefine any market.
About Geoff Crook:
“I am passionate about creativity and absolutely committed to the idea that disruption allows you to create better futures. I worked at Central Saint Martin’s college as a director of imagination and application and created a master’s program called Applied Imagination which broke just about every rule in education. I’ve done a lot of freelancing in the branding/marketing area and that’s where I got to meet Duncan who I then collaborated with on creating The Dream Cafe.
Frustration was the primary inspiration. It was frustration that the majority of businesses was confronting the context of market unpredictability by investing in trained insight rather than innovation and was simply failing to notice the difference.” – Geoff Crook

In this episode Ray Higdon takes a deep dive into his book, Vibrational Money Immersion, where shares a network marketing guide to better help you make a living from home.
In his book Higdon provides a roadmap filled with practical advice, assignments, and principles that are designed to show you how to become the best network marketer in the field of multi-level marketing. The goal of this book is the help you train your brain to craft your own success, master the art of networking, enhance your sales skills, and overcome multiple obstacles that get in the way.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who want to be able to work from home and are interested in multi-level marketing, but want a better understanding of the principles.
About Ray Higdon:
“I was in corporate America and I didn’t feel like I was living my highest and best purpose and also spending more time with picture of my kids than the real thing. I would go to work when they were asleep and come home to them already in bed and that just wasn’t the life that I wanted to work toward. And so I went out on my own and started a real estate business that didn’t work out and in 2009 I found myself dead broke. It was then when I reinvented myself and have since built a multimillion a year coaching and training business. I also have a very successful blog and social media presence and because of all this my lifestyle is a lot different.
A lot of entrepreneurs attribute some of their successes from the content that’s contained within Think and Grow Rich. What I did was I took the public domain version of Think and Grow Rich and I kind of translated it not just to today’s world but also for the actual network marketer. I’ve been in network marketing for over five years and there are a lot of people that appreciate that translation of how this actually and directly applies to their profession.” – Ray Higdon

In this episode Robert Kelsey gives an in-depth look inside his book, The Outside Edge, where he discusses how outsiders can succeed in a world made by insiders.
In his book Kelsey provides a practical guide that explains the ins and outs of getting your voice heard when it comes to being an original thinker and helps remediate the insecurities of unappreciated creativity. The goal of the book is to help you accept yourself for who you are, motivate yourself to harness your creativity, and acquire the skills needed to get your ideas heard.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who possess a unique ability to create new ideas and need help overcoming the feelings of awkwardness when it comes to finding work.
About Robert Kelsey:
“I am British and lived most of my life in London. I am someone that has always considered myself an outsider and didn’t fit my environment and ended up becoming an entrepreneur. What I’ve realized since then is that most entrepreneurs feel the same way I did and that’s often the reason they became an entrepreneur.
I realized that I had a mental disconnect from other people and it turned me into someone that felt like an outsider and I felt like it was important to write about. The real catalyst for me was reading Malcolm Gladwell’s book, David and Goliath, where he spent 200 or more pages saying that outsiders and misfits had an enormous advantage. I couldn’t believe what I was reading because I always felt outsiders were disabled from their mental blockages and sometimes they don’t even see it. What Gladwell was describing to me were not outsiders that had an advantage, they were eccentric insiders and they were using their advantages that they had inbuilt in them in order to succeed. My book at first looks like its accepting Gladwell’s premise but it’s not, it’s absolutely rejecting it. Ultimately I make the point that outsiders do have some attributes that they can employ to their advantages but they’ve got to learn to employ them.” – Robert Kelsey

In the episode Scott Mautz takes a deep dive into his book, Make It Matter, where he shows you how managers can motivate by creating meaning and personal significance.
In his book Mautz shares years of research, case studies, and techniques in an all-in-one how to guide for energizing, motivating, and encouraging employees to put in the most effort. The goal of the book is to help you add meaning to any organizational mission, find the internal significance of every employee, eliminate negativity from the workplace, and create unique opportunities of personal growth.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who run an organization of 5 or more employees and are looking for the best ways to create a work environment that mimic the best places to work.
About Scott Mautz:
“I am an author as of March 4th, when Make It Matter hit the streets. I am also a keynotes speaker and have a fulltime job as a director at Procter & Gamble where I run the company’s largest business. And over my 20 plus years at Procter & Gamble I have run a number of different businesses all multimillion dollars in size.
I have been studying the field of motivation for almost a decade and about seven years ago I discovered a stunning statistic that has been proven over and over again. Which is that almost 70% of us may actually be coated as disengaged at work and even if you’ve heard that statistic before, what’s stunning is that is doesn’t get any better. Year after year the data will show you it keeps declining so whatever we are doing to motivate clearly cannot be working. That has been haunting me for the last half dozen years and I really started working hard at trying to find a way to crack this code. I came across this concept that it’s not pay, it’s not perks, and it’s not promotion, it’s really meaning where you can bring significance into your work and make it matter more. That’s what kept me going and was the inspiration behind this book.” – Scott Mautz

In this episode Jeff Hunt gives an in-depth summary of his book, The Website Investor, where he shares a guide to buying an online website business for passive income.
In his book Hunt provides a roadmap for finding highly profitable online businesses for sale and shows you how to get the most value out of them without having to start from scratch. The goal of the book is to help you estimate the value of a website, negotiate price with website sellers, differentiate between low and high effort web businesses, and hire the right virtual assistants to help grow your web business.
This book is perfect for serial entrepreneurs who are interested in owning profitable online businesses that have already developed a customer base without having to start fresh.
About Jeff Hunt:
“I’ve worked for many years in middle management at IBM where we had achieved most of our career goals. We felt like we just wanted to give back some of the blessing we had received so my family and I sold everything we had and moved overseas to a western Asian country where we served for about seven years. Once the kids grew up we knew it was time to come home. When I got home I didn’t feel like I could return to the corporate world very easily with the seven year gap on my resume so with little cash I decided to start buying websites and since bought about 300 income generating websites. Along with the website investing I am also an advisor for an online business acquisition for a company called Cloud Income Properties.
I meet a lot of people who would be better off buying in rather than starting a business from scratch. I go to conferences and people are really attracted to the online business space because of the flexibility that it offers. What most people don’t realize is the online business failure rate is even higher than offline just because people don’t invest themselves into it as much. And so the inspiration for my book is introducing all these people who are interested in a business to this idea of buying a website. The other inspiration is to help myself because the more people who are aware of this possibility, the more websites come out of the wood work that are for sale that I can buy and add to my portfolio.” – Jeff Hunt

The way I like to explain it is that I write marketing materials designed to generate response. One of the big things that I love about my job is figuring out why a marketing piece is poor or isn’t generating the response that people want.
Usually the way that I write is I stumble on marketing topics that interest me and then I’ll weave them into a theme. I wanted to give people some ideas for establishing trust in the marketing materials that you send out to attract leads and generate sales.” – Tom Trush

In his book Smart expands on his original book Clarity and provides you with new, powerful ways to improve your productivity, eliminate stress, and master the art of innate thinking. The goal of the book is to help you create more relationships, meet personal goals, pinpoint negative goals, and train your brain to start prioritizing your day-to-day life more clearly.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who are constantly bombarded with an extensive to-do list and need an effective manual that will clear their head in order to get things done efficiently.
About Jamie Smart:
“I’m an entrepreneur and my fascination is with how people think, how people motivate themselves, and how people get results. Very specifically what I’ve find is how the mind works is a huge area of fascination and I’ve been exploring that for years.
When I found myself having all the trappings of success but none of the feelings of success I went back to the drawing board and found that there was a fundamental misunderstanding behind how I thought life worked. As I cleared up that misunderstanding for myself and started clearing it up for my clients not only did I become more productive, more clear minded, more comfortable in my own skin, I also became more successful. It turns out we are designed for reality and do really well in it but we don’t do so well when we are caught up in our muddle thinking.” – Jamie Smart

In this episode Gary Klein reveals all his insights on his book, Seeing What Others Don’t, where he reveals when, why, and how insights are formed and what blocks them.
In his book Klein shares stories involving his years of cognitive learning research that uncover the origins of creativity and how many successful innovators were able to create their marvelous ideas. The goal of the book is to help you train your brain to be more creative, effectively solve more problems, avoid disruptive idea blockers, and think faster than the average person.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who work in a stressful, fast-paced environment and want to learn how to improve their cognitive thinking skill in order to make fast, intelligent decisions.
About Gary Klein:
“I was trained in experimental psychology and over the years I got interested in seeing how people actually work outside of laboratories and specifically how people make life and death decisions under extreme time pressure. So we’ve studied firefighters, nurses, physicians and so forth to see what they actually do.
I would make presentations on my work on decision making to audiences and there was a slide that I would use that had an up arrow and a down arrow. The down arrow was ways to improve performance by reduction and the up arrow was about what to increase in order to improve performance. What you wanted to increase was insights and so I would tell groups that and they resonated to it. They kept asking me questions about the up arrow that I didn’t have answers to. Finally I decided I need to do some research and study the up arrow which is what led me to writing this book.” – Gary Klein

From there I became president of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation in New Jersey.
When I came in to the foundation world I leaning towards the question who needs to learn what here. “I am one of the two authors of Top dog, the other one is Richard Ruttle. I have my own consultancy practice and what I do is I help large organizations sell more. I’ve worked in 30 countries and Top Dog is my third book. I hope that readers will be able to read Top Dog and understand exactly what they need to do to progress their business.
The inspiration was to help people in conversations when they think the other person is more important than them. The inspiration is to get rid of all that frustration out there that so many entrepreneurs feel when having a conversation with important people and it not going as well as they want and this book will make sure that it does.” – Andy Bounds

In this episode Joan Sotkin takes a deep dive into her book, Build Your Money Muscles, where she shares 9 simple exercises for improving your relationship with money.
In her book Sotkin provides a common sense, step-by-step guide that will create an achievable pathway to financial security and prosperity through personal growth rather than quick fixes. The goal of the book is to help you build a secure financial base, understand why you are struggling with money, manage money more healthfully, and climb out of any financial slump.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who have a hard time managing personal finances and want a natural approach to becoming financially happy with their money.
About Joan Sotkin:
“I started out in life on the lower end, I had two very successful brothers and I could barely make it. I was sick emotionally, financially, and it’s been a journey. I love to share what I’ve learned along the way and I’ve been on the internet since 1995 doing just that.
I really like sharing what I learned and I saw that a lot of financial books were either heavy on the mindset piece or they were very hardcore how to count your money and handle cash flow books. I wanted something that combined both because that’s what I saw had to be done.” – Joan Sotkin

My co-author and I both individually believed that this book needed to be written. We both work in the trenches with entrepreneurial leadership teams all the time, we both are avid learners, and both fallen in love with a forum for a book and we believe that telling the EOS story using the entrepreneurial approach would be a compelling read for most of the people we surround ourselves with.” – Mike Paton

In this episode Graham Allcott takes a deep dive into his book, How to be a Productivity Ninja, where he shows you how to worry less, achieve more, and love what you do.
In his book Allcott combines all of his teachings from his public productivity workshops from all around the world into a simple, effective guide to working faster and smarter. The goal of the book is to teach you how to overcome procrastination, how to use email more efficiently, new ways to increase your personal time, and how to de-clutter an information overload.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who own more than one business or run a time intensive business and need help balancing their overloaded schedule in order to work more efficiently.
About Graham Allcott:
“I run a company called Think Productive and am an author. For the last few years I’ve been involved in productivity training and coaching with some of the biggest companies in the UK and increasingly around the world. At the moment my life is traveling the world and being the evangelist for Productivity Ninja.
The inspiration for me was my own journey with productivity. I used to be a chief executive of a charity here in the UK and I went freelance. And when I went freelance I realized that I no longer had a team of people around me and knew I had a problem and needed to develop my own skills. I started reading lots of different books, blogs, and experimenting with different systems to develop my own take on the topic of productivity. I am a big believer that the things you struggle to learn yourself are the things you should teach to other people so I started doing just that.” – Graham Allcott
