In this episode Amy Morin reveals all her insights on 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do where she helps you train your brain for success and happiness.
In her book Morin combines interesting stories with simple solutions that will take your outlook on life to the next level when it comes to health, wealth, and relationships. The goal of the book is to teach you how to overcome the bad habits that suppress success, how to strengthen your mental capacity, how to cope with the setbacks of life, and how to avoid negative behaviors.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs that are tired of feeling sorry for their selves, being jealous of other people’s success, and holding personal grudges from failure.
About Amy Morin:
“I am a license clinical social worker and psychotherapist. I am also a college psychology instructor and a few years ago I started writing articles for the web and now I write for places like Forbes and Psychology Today.
It had started out as an article and then morphed into a book from there. The reason I had written the article was because of some personal issues that were going on in my life. As a therapist I inherently was interested in psychology and mental strength in general but back in 2003 my journey became personal. I had just bought my first house, I was married and things were looking good when my mother passed away suddenly from a brain aneurism and I had to figure out how to publicly help people still deal with their problems when I am very privately grieving. And if you fast forward to three more years my 26 year old husband died suddenly of a heart attack and again had to figure out how to go to work to help people with the same problems that I was facing. I knew then that I had to sort out the things and tools I needed to do to become the very best that I can so that I can balance these two things in my life.
If you fast forward a few more years things were looking up and I decided to get remarried but shortly after that my father-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer and unlike the sudden death of my mother and husband this time I knew what was coming. That is when I sat down and wrote this list of 13 things mentally strong people don’t do to basically remind myself of the things that could hold me back in life if I allowed them to.” – Amy Morin

The goal of the book is to teach you how to become an in-demand resource, understand the business of freelancing, how to get your independent business off the ground, and how to avoid the common pitfalls of freelancing.
This book is perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs who have a special set of skills and are interested in leaving their full-time job in order to start monetizing their skillsets independently.
About Katy Tynan:
“I’m an author, speaker, and entrepreneur. I started my career in tech and helping people understand how technology could work for them. But really what I found was that I love people, I love working with people, and I love helping people solve problems and figure things out. So that’s how I got started working independently as I just love going around and meeting people and finding ways that we can work together and solve problems.
The inspiration for me to pursue the path of becoming an independent professional came about six years ago and then what I found is it’s tough to do. We don’t teach people in school how to pursue this career path and so I felt like there needed to be more resources, more conversation, and more opportunity for people to understand what this path looks like.” – Katy Tynan

In this episode Marley Majcher takes a deep dive into her book, But Are You Making Any Money?, where she reveals a fun yet effective way to start making money in any industry.
In her book Majcher provides a profit generating roadmap that stems from her many years as an entrepreneur as well as a financially unstable individual. The goal of the book is to help you create a financially stable income all while learning effective tips and tricks for growing a business, doubling the profit on your sales, and doing things more efficiently.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who are having a hard time turning over a suitable profit in their small business and need a systematic way to easily double their income.
About Marley Majcher:
“This book basically came out of the need to solve my own problems as a business owner. My core business is event planning and I currently run a company called The Party Goddess. We handle social and corporate events as well as weddings and travel all over. I wrote this book because my business life looked very glamorous but I was not making any money. I now run an online consulting company where I help small business owners.
The inspiration came out of frustration and the fact that I felt like I had a dirty little secret which was this glamorous business on the outside and in reality it was sort of a mess under the hood. I started researching for answers and ended up coming up with my own system that I wanted to share with others that were in the same trouble as I was.” – Marley Majcher

In this episode Scott Edinger takes a deep dive into his and Laurie Sain’s book, The Hidden Leader, where they reveal a unique way to develop greatness within a company.
In their book Edinger and Sain provide a systematic blueprint of a new style of leadership called Reverser Mentoring where senior leaders are mentored by their employees. The goal of the book is to show you how to recognize true leaders within your company, effectively utilize highly talented employees, and build valuable, long-lasting relationships with any employee.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who lead their organizations with a creative mindset and are looking for a way to effectively make the most of under-utilized employees.
About Scott Edinger:
“Companies like AT&T, Lenovo, and Los Angeles Times hire me to work with their senior leaders. I start with senior leaders because as the senior leaders go so goes the organization. I work with them on creating growth strategies and how to create differentiation in their business as well as how to lead effectively.
A few years ago I was talking with a former colleague of mine and he was telling me about a project he was working on called Reverse Mentoring. The notion here was that instead of senior partners mentoring, the associates would mentor the senior partners. And those senior partners learned a great deal not only about technology but also about client services and some new ways to approach that. I thought that was such an interesting idea and then the next day I read an article about reverse innovation. I ended up thinking about it all when the hidden leader concept was born and then I found my publisher.” – Scott Edinger

About Marc Lichtenfeld:
“I am the Chief Income Strategist at The Oxford Club and the Editor of The Oxford Income Letter. I am a former Wall Street Analyst, left the dark side and came over to work with subscribers and individual investors rather than Wall Street.
There were a few; one of them was the great reception in 2008-2009 and seeing people get hurt so badly in the markets. They were getting out at the wrong time and not getting back in at the right time. I wanted to help investors find a way that they could sleep at night even during difficult market periods and continue to make money. I also wanted to create a system where not only could they invest well but also find a way to ensure that their lifestyle that they worked so hard for does not deteriorate due to inflation.” – Marc Lichtenfeld

In this episode Jason Kelly shares all the insights on his book, The 3% Signal, where he reveals a revolutionary investing strategy that will change your life.
In his book Kelly takes the stress out of investing by providing a simple formula that can be added to any type of financial account in order to help novice investors level the playing field. The goal of the book is to help you ensure a secure retirement plan, react intelligently to price changes, learn how to buy low and sell high, and understand the basic language that is utilized in the investing industry.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs that are interested in increasing their personal wealth and are looking for a simple beginners guide into the world of financial investments.
About Jason Kelly:
“I started out writing for IBM at the Silicon Valley laboratory in San Jose California right out of college. I learned there to write about complex topics and I had a great editor there who really focused on surprising readers. Four years after working there I finally had enough income after writing books on my own about the stock market to leave IBM and become a fulltime freelance writer. So for the past two decades I have been writing about the stock market. I moved to Japan 13 years ago after being here on a book tour and falling in love with the place.
The inspiration was noticing friends and family that had been struggling with the stock market for years. Over the years for writing for people and helping them with their investments I came to realize that almost everything in the stock market is geared against the individual investor. This is hard for professional investors to get right much less the part-time investor. I wanted to give people a system that does work that doesn’t require any input from the media, beats the market in almost all pros over time, and is simple enough that anybody can do it. It’s the product of two decades of research and is the best practice I’ve been able to come up with.” – Jason Kelly

I had just got done selling a 10 week seminar course that I had sold for $1,000 and I was getting ready to do 10 weeks of training on marketing and productivity and I thought I could just transcribe it all. In this episode Charles Gaudet II shares all his insights on his book, The Predictable Profits Playbook, where he reveals a marketing approach that defies the principles followed by most entrepreneurs running businesses today.
In his book Gaudet provides well-researched marketing tactics utilized by larger well-known organizations that are very effective for any small business that wants to see significant growth. The goal of the book is to teach you how to win the competitive advantage in any market, improve your sales ratio dramatically, building a raving fan base, and generate higher recurring profits.
This book is for entrepreneurs who are well established in business and are tired of witnessing their organization generate small business profits when it could be generating large business profits.
About Charles Gaudet:
“I’ve been an entrepreneur since the age of four, created my first multimillion dollar business at the age of 24. Entrepreneurship has more or less been in my blood all my life. Today I own a company where I help small business owners create predictable and ever increasing profits inside their business.
A lot of entrepreneurs are told that the secret to success is to work hard and I took that very literally where I would sit my alarm for 3:30am and I would work every waking hour of every day, seven days a week. It got to a point where the stress was causing severe chest pain and I found myself in the emergency room. The doctor told me that the issue was stress and it was literally trying to kill me which at that point I realized something had to change. I traveled all over the world studying and trying to figure out what were some of the common denominators where some succeed and others failed. Collectively we connected the dots and made a book from that information.” – Charles Gaudet

The goal of the book is to teach you how to effectively systematize any business, how to overcome business struggles, and how to improve your strengths as a business owner.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who are fairly new to business, but are struggling when it comes to growing the business, meeting deadlines, finding time for personal life, and eliminating interruptions.
About Philip Beyer:
“I was born and raised in Louisiana and I moved to Nashville Tennessee in 1981. I’ve been self-employed since the age of 24. I am the owner and president of two Nashville base businesses, a commercial printing company called Beyer Printing, and a software company called System 100. I’m the father of three grown sons who work with me in our companies, the husband of a beautiful wife who is my editor and chief of our blogs, website content and this book.
I started Beyer printing in 1988 and after five years of steady growth I found myself in chaos working long, bogged down in daily operations, and no time for personal life. I found myself making good money but not having the free time with it. A friend gave me a book to read on business and systems. The goal of the book is to help you see things more clearly, rejuvenate your imagination, and manage from a birds-eye view in order to develop a strategic advantage on your competitors.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who are managing the operations of a business and need help realigning their management strategy to predict the future of an organization.
About Rob-Jan De Jong:
“I am the father of twin 10 year old boys to whom I am also their soccer coach so I do a lot of work with leadership and put it to practice with 10 year olds. Professionally I work a lot with leadership teams and trying to get them to engage with their strategic agenda. The second thing I do is teach about this subject and I am involved in various executive education programs.
My inspiration comes from about seven or eight years ago while I was doing a lot of work in the field of leadership and at some point I asked the audience what’s the one word you find in the definition of leadership. Immediately they fired back the word vision. From there I asked all these leaders what their vision was and nobody could raise their hand and tell me because they didn’t have one. I didn’t understand how it could be that something we all know is important to have as a leader but yet we don’t have one. That fascinated me and was what inspired me to look into this subject and I wanted to share my discoveries of what I found over the eight years.” – Rob-Jan de Jong

This book is perfect for women entrepreneurs who have a working knowledge about business, but are having a hard time maintaining and developing a steady path to financial freedom.
About Chellie Campbell:
“I have been teaching financial stress reduction workshops for the past 25 years. I used to own a bookkeeping service and I saw that a lot of my clients couldn’t really read the reports that I give them. Most people don’t have a really good financial education so I started consulting with my clients and three of them in the same week said I should teach this. So I started and never looked back.
I have written two other books for the general public, The Wealthy Spirit and Zero to Zillionaire. What happened then is I took a long break and working with people but there has been a lot since the 2008 crash of the economy and a lot of discussion of income and equality still comes up. I wanted to talk about woman having it all and still be nice and having a good time.” – Chellie Campbell

In this episode Paul Paetz takes a deep dive into his book, Disruption by Design where he shows you how to create products that disrupt and then dominate markets.
In his book Paetz provides a handbook of lessons that describe the differences in innovation techniques as well as examples from successful innovators that have disrupted markets and ones that should have but failed. The goal of this book is to teach you how disruption happens, where to look for disruptive opportunities, what it takes to be disruptive, and how to market disruptive products.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs or intrapreneurs who have ideas big enough to change the way we live, but need help developing and launching their product into a specific market.
About Paul Paetz:
“I have been in the technology business over 30 years now and the first 2/3rd of that I was at a number of different startups and companies. I went out on my own after that and started a marketing services company and then joined a friend who was building a company providing services in disruptive innovation. From there I started Innovative Disruption which is a company that I run today providing services to disrupters and companies facing disruption.
There are a ton of books out today on disruption and most of what you see in the media is incorrect. The majority of startups aren’t in a position to afford my services and I think anybody can afford the $30 that the book cost.” – Paul Paetz

In this episode Ken Moraif reveals all his insights on Buy, Hold, and Sell where he shares his investment strategy that could save you from the next market crash.
In his book Moraif gives you very practical advice on the most effective investment strategies, the myths that surround stock investing, the benefits of diversified portfolios, and selling to protect your principle. The goal of the book is to help investors keep all their financial investments, know when to cash out, and prepare themselves for the consequences of a market crash.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who are seasoned business owners that are looking for an alternative financial system that will maximize their retirement funds.
About Ken Moraif:
“I am a certified Financial Planner; I’ve been practicing with clients for 27 years now. I run a firm that is one of the top 50 fastest growing financial advisor firms in the nation. And the last three years in a row I’ve been named one of the top 100 Financial Advisors in the nation by Barron’s Magazine.
The philosophy of buy and hold is one that has been around for a long time. My mom was an investor and we lived off of her investments and when I was a young boy I saw my mom win some and lose some depending on the market. So I never really believed in the philosophy of buy and hold and when I went into this business that’s what they teach you. And so I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how not to have my clients go through that experience and the strategy and philosophy that we developed is what this book is about.” – Ken Moraif

In this episode Carson Tate takes a deep dive into her book, Work Simply, where she provides a system to help make work less complicated and more organized.
In her book Tate gives you a step-by-step productivity system that is separated into four custom styles that are uniquely fit for different types of learners and doers. The goal of the book is to help you identify your own unique productivity style, maximize your effectiveness, lead great meetings, communicate properly, and tell how your desk defines your work style.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs that maintain a very busy schedule, work over 40 hours a week, and need help organizing tasks into an effective system.
About Carson Tate:
“I am the owner and founder of a company called Working Simply and that’s my personal mission as well as my company’s mission to help individuals, teams, and organizations streamline and simplify their workflow.
I am very privileged to have the opportunity to work with really high achieving entrepreneurs and business owners and as I was working with them I was finding that they were struggling in trying to adopt and adapt some of the time management, productivity, best practices in the marketplace. So they were feeling frustrated and overwhelmed because the latest and greatest app or blog post that they read wasn’t working for them. I realized that it wasn’t the lack of drive but rather the tools that they were using weren’t aligned to the way they think. So I wanted to write a book that helped people identify the way they think and then align their thinking styles to the way they actually work so that they can be more productive and more discerning.” – Carson Tate
